| SKIPPER 'n TIPPER aka the BAG Kittens survived a henous act of cruelty. At a mere 3 weeks of age they were stuffed in a food bag, and thrown out onto the road. | ZIGGY (a 6 week old kitten with a broken leg): On Friday, September 25, 2009 Little Webster, a 6 week old kitten plummeted to the ground, breaking his leg. Unable to afford the cost of surgery, the owner turned to two local shelters, both who turned him away. Learn how RVAS stepped forward and not only saved his life, but partnered with Iowa Veterinarian Specialties to give him the needed surgery to live a normal healthy life. |
| DAKOTA (injured in a shelter set for euthanasia): The Tragedies of Traditional Shelters - A group of university students stepped up to save a puppy's life after it was ordered euthanized by the very shelter it was injured by. |
| BEN, the BLACK BEAR (freed from captivity after 5 years): was was finally rescued from a 1,000 ft pen in Linden, Iowa. He now resides at The Wild Animal Sanctuary, among friends, where he can live as natural as a bear in captive can live. |
