Unless you happen to be in one of the communities directly impacted by the Missouri River's flooding, chances are the news reports of this epic disaster are now back page news. In spite of the diminished reporting, the problems created by the massive evacuations of homes and towns all along the Nebraska and Iowa sides of the River are still very real and immediate.

As tragic as these events are, people aren't the only displaced flood victims!

Thousands of animal companions are either being left behind to fend for themselves, or being surrendered in droves to local animal shelters and rescues by their owners who have lost their homes. This situation has created a massive shortage of basic animal care necessities, such as food, medical and cleaning supplies and temporary housing by those shelters & rescues trying to save lives.

and unless help arrives soon, the lives of these helpless victims are in daily jeopardy

In order to provide care to these animal flood victims and save lives, the members of the Animal Relief Coalition are appealing to the generosity of communities, animal welfare organizations, corporate donors and individuals who care about animal companion animals.
