An open gate and several blocks being chased by their owners, Kelly & Laddie decided to take a run. But that run soon turned into three days of being lost, sending their owners into a frantic search for their beloved furry companions.

RVAS was contacted and immediately executed our Pet Alert! program to assist the immediate recovery of Kelly & Laddie.

Their owners contacted local law enforcement since the dogs were seen by a Clerk at a convenient store on Highway 141 being loaded into a car by two young would-be rescuers who were on their way to taking the dogs to the Animal Rescue League in Des Moines.

But the dogs never made it...and the owners feared the worse.

After three days on the run, a kind stranger came home to find Kelly & Laddie, both a little weary, cold and hungry on his doorstep. With tags and microchips, Kelly & Laddie's owners were called and reunited with their owners that very evening.

Relieved to have their beloved canines home safely, both dogs ate their supper and went right to bed. According to their owners, they were not injured, but definitely relieved to be back home.
