Seminars - RVAS is dedicated in all issues that directly affect companion animals. Through partnering with dedicated individuals and groups, we are able to offer educational seminars ranging from animal causes, legislative calls to action pet behavior and pet health care. Orientations and Training Sessions - Designed for all animal lovers, RVAS offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities. Every volunteer must attend our general orientation before participating at an event. Some Programs require additional training sessions. Simply purchase a Coupon Booklet at any one of our events (or online) for only $5.00 and get triple the value in coupons for the Community Day Sale. Join us as we kick off Spring by partnering with Petco's Annual Spring A Pet Campaign. This campaign is coordinated by the Petco Foundation specifically designed to benefit its partnering shelters and rescues. RVAS partners annually with Petco Stores in order to bring awareness to the public of the needs that animal shelters and rescues have to operate properly and save lives. Don't Litter: Fix Your Critter - Join RVAS as we partner with Petco for their National Spay and Neuter Drive and local vets to stop pet overpopulation. From low cost spay and neuter clinics to education and awareness for feral cats, we have experts ready to help those who want to stop pet overpopulation. Join RVAS at the Great Iowa Pet Expo, Iowa's biggest celebration of pets, pet owners, pet stuff, pet services, and pet entertainment. Stop by our booth, register to win great prizes, see all that we have been doing over the past year, and view some of our companions still needing homes. Great fun for everyone!

RVAS partners with Petco Stores for their annual HOWL-O-WEEN celebration. From costume contests to face painting, there is something for everyone, including kids and furr-kids. Check out our calendar to see which stores RVAS will be participating with, and all the fun and games lined up for your enjoyment.

Ring in the holiday season and celebrate with your entire family including those furry friends. Paws with Claus: Photos with Santa is our annual holiday event partnered with Petco. Bring your kids, both human and furry, in their best dress outfits and have their portraits taken with Santa Claus. High quality digital photos are taken by professional photographers and of course, Santa himself. These photos make great gifts, excellent for Holiday cards and of course generate a lifetime of memories.

Join us for our Save Our Tail Sale and shop the day away. This sale has something for everyone, from furniture, to electronics, to clothing to collectibles. It's a one-day only event, but is partnered with Boone's famous Pufferbilly Days Festival creating a weekend of fun and adventure. Proceeds from this sale directly benefit the animals in our care and the many programs we offer to protect them.

Come and take a walk with us for our Paws For a Cause Dog Walk. Great exercise accompanied with friends, both human and furry, make for a fun-filled morning. This event is a great way to show your love for dogs and support the work we do.
