CAT-A-BRATION CELEBRATION
June is Adopt A Shelter Cat Month and you can celebrate with us and save a life! Here's how:
CELEBRATIONS: Come and join us at our Cat-a-Bration Celebration Event on Saturdays, June 6th (Clive Store) and June 13th (Jordan Creek) from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. Visit with our cat wizard, buy fun feline products, play games, win prizes, and of course stop by between noon and 3:30 and view one of our purr-fect felines up for adoption! Prizes include a kitty tower and beautiful Isabel Bloom feline statue!
MOBILE ADOPTIONS: Love cats? We have 'em! Come and view the fun loving felines up for adoption during one of our mobile adoption events this month. You can play with them or just adore them, either way, they will be happy to see you. Take a sneak peek and those purr-fect companions waiting to find new homes.
PURR-FECT ICE CREAM: Not for felines, but for humans! Two opportunities to fill your tummy with yummy ice cream and save lives!
SATURDAY - JUNE 6 - Petco (Buffalo Road, Clive) - Stop by our Cat-a-Bration Celebration between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm and visit the Schwan's Truck for yummy ice cream and other delicious foods. From freezer to microwave, Schwan's offers a variety of quick and healthy meals for your lifestyle. And best of all, proceeds benefit the companions in our care!
SATURDAY - JUNE 13 - Petco (Jordan Creek) - Come and visit the romping feline pair, Ben & Jerry and have some yummy Ben & Jerryice cream, too! Single serve ice cream, in lot's of flavors will be available for a small donation. Lot's of games and prizes to win, too! Proceeds benefit one of our many feline programs! Celebration times are 11:00 am - 4:00 pm.

This includes kittens, feral cats, scared strays and those beautiful felines that were abandoned or lost and found themselves inside shelter walls. You can help end the tragedy many of these felines face helping stop overpopulation.

Feral cats (wild) do not have to "die" in shelters...but millions do everyday. These misunderstood, and often misassessed felines find themselves struggling to survive under our porches, on construction sites, in ditches and in shelters. Working with Alley Cat Allies, RVAS is dedicated to saving all lives, by properly assessing ferals and strays and determining how to save their life, either through adoption, rehabilitation or TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return).

Over 60% of felines that enter shelters are owner surrenders. Many of these are surrendered because of behavior issues, relocation of pet owner or multi pet households which are creating friction. Our Rehome Program offers solutions, resulting in 65% of owner surrenders that seek our help keeping their beloved companion, preventing them from entering the shelter cycle.

Neglect, cruelty and abuse happens everyday in this country. Often times felines will be caught in traps set for wildlife, or abandoned to fend for themselves, often times without claws. Regardless of the abuse, neglect or cruelty, RVAS is dedicated to finding the source of the neglect or cruelty and solve the problem. If laws are broken, charges are brought against the perpetrator. And RVAS fights for the laws to be changed, to protect them in the future.

In these tough economic times, pet owners are finding themselves struggling to keep their homes, let alone, their animal companions. RVAS is here to help. Your contribution will help those who qualify for our program to receive temporary medical assistance and food supplies, as well as, help them find resources to continue quality care for their companion for life.
